THOMAS SCOTT COLLECTION – Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale WITHOUT RESERVE and SOLD to the highest bidder August 13 – 15, 2015 at Russo and Steele’s 15th Annual Monterey, California Auction. Please contact us for more information. Buick’s entry to the personal luxury car market was the Riviera, introduced in 1963 to wide acclaim and strong sales. Featuring an all-new design, it was GM’s best answer to the Ford Thunderbird. The formula worked; the 1964 models saw very few changes and are essentially the same as the ’63. As striking today as it was 50 years ago, these first-generation Rivieras have become quite collectible. This numbers-matching 1964 Buick Riviera has undergone a three-year full restoration (including engine rebuild); with only around 5,000 miles since the restoration, it shows and drives as new. This is a highly optioned example with A/C (working), AM/FM radio, power antenna, cruise control, tilt wheel, front seat belts, power brakes, power steering, power windows (including power vent windows), and remote trunk release. Clad in Wedgewood Blue, paint quality is better than factory; most chrome has been redone including bumpers, door handles and turn signal housings. Vinyl top is excellent. BFG bias plys on factory wheels. Highly detailed engine compartment. Matching spare and jack. Beautifully restored interior shows as nearly new. Under the hood is the original numbers-matching “Wildcat” Nailhead engine mated to an automatic transmission. Complete photo-documented restoration included engine rebuild around eight years and 5,000 miles ago. Recent carb, A/C, brake and transmission service. A lovely car that would make a welcome addition to any collection. Includes the owner’s manual, protect-o-plate, old registrations, framed Riviera advertisements, service notebook, etc. One of six classic Rivieras being offered from the Tom Scott collection.
